Lostock Hall PTA: Chinese New Year Fundraiser & Competition 2025 – Year of the Snake
What Kind of Snake Can You Make?
Lunar New Year starts this week and 2025 is the year of the snake. We’re excited to invite all children to celebrate Chinese New Year by creating their own snake-themed artwork, craft, or story! This is an opportunity for creativity, cultural exploration, and a bit of fun.
How to Join
Children can participate in one of the following ways:
1. Create a Snake-Themed Artwork or Craft
Let your imagination run wild! Design and create your unique snake using any materials, such as:
Drawing or colouring simple snake designs.
Painting or collage to create vibrant, artistic snakes.
3D models or sculptures, including origami or mixed-media creations.
2. Write a Snake-Themed Story or Poem
Get creative with words! Write a short story or poem featuring a snake as the main character. Ideas include:
A fable teaching a lesson (inspired by traditional Chinese tales).
An adventure story.
A funny or imaginative poem.
Entries will be judged based on:
Creativity & originality.
Effort & presentation.
Connection to Chinese New Year (e.g., using red/gold colours, Chinese symbols, or traditional patterns).
